Jesus encourages his disciples to go into the whole world to proclaim the Good News. This may be the end of the Gospel of Mark, but the story of Jesus’ Good News is ours to live every day. Jesus promises that when we, the believers and baptized, proclaim the gospel with our lives, we will see amazing signs. The sign that stands out for me is that we “will speak new languages” just like the apostles on Pentecost.

What is the new language we will speak? How will it help us understand one another? Jesus always treated others with love, forgiveness, and mercy—one common language to unite us all. The language of God’s enduring, unconditional love will help us cast out envy, pride, and hatred.
